The role
To support the continued growth of our Investment Funds practice, we are looking for a talented German-speaking Associate to join our German Desk in Luxembourg.
You will become part of a highly regarded and expanding Investment Funds team of approximately 35 lawyers and professionals, advising leading local and international clients across a wide range of fund structures and asset classes, on both lead and local counsel mandates.
As a member of our German Desk, you will regularly work on matters involving German-speaking clients while also gaining exposure to the broader activities of our Investment Funds practice. Working closely with partners and senior lawyers, you will contribute to diverse and sophisticated matters in a collaborative, multicultural and highly dynamic environment.
Your responsibilities
As an Associate within our Investment Funds team, you will:
- Assist the team in advising asset managers, private equity houses, institutional investors and other financial sector professionals on the structuring, establishment and operation of Luxembourg investment funds.
- Work on a broad range of regulated and alternative investment fund structures and asset classes.
- Draft and review fund documentation and related agreements, including offering documents, limited partnership agreements, articles of incorporation, subscription agreements and corporate documentation.
- Support the establishment, restructuring and ongoing operation of regulated and unregulated investment vehicles.
- Review and analyse financial products and fund structures under Luxembourg law.
- Support senior lawyers on fund structuring matters and contribute to the implementation of solutions tailored to clients’ legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with regulatory filings and communications with Luxembourg authorities and regulators.
- Prepare legal analyses and memoranda, and contribute to the delivery of clear and practical advice on Luxembourg investment funds and related regulatory matters.
- Participate in client meetings and conference calls, with regular exposure to German-speaking and international clients.
- Collaborate with other practice groups on multidisciplinary and cross-border matters.
- Manage assigned tasks proactively and progressively develop greater autonomy and client exposure.
- Contribute to the team’s know-how and the monitoring of relevant legal and regulatory developments.
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent qualification is an asset)
- You are admitted to the Luxembourg Bar or are fully qualified in Germany, having successfully completed the Second State Examination following your legal traineeship (Referendariat).
- You have a strong interest in investment funds law and ideally some initial relevant experience, gained through internships or up to three years of professional experience within a Luxembourg or international law firm.
- You have a sound understanding of Luxembourg investment fund structures and are eager to further develop your expertise across regulated and alternative funds.
- You possess excellent analytical, drafting and organisational skills, together with strong attention to detail.
- You demonstrate a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and a strong sense of responsibility.
- You are proactive, reliable and able to manage several tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- You are eager to develop your technical expertise, commercial awareness, client exposure and autonomy.
- You enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced, multicultural and international environment.
- You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken. French would be considered a strong asset.
- You are interested in new ways of working, including the use of legal technology and AI as part of the evolution of legal practice.
