The role
Our Investment Funds practice is experiencing sustained growth, and we are looking to recruit a Managing Associate to further strengthen our team in Luxembourg.
You will join a high-performing team advising leading international clients across a wide range of fund structures, alternative investment strategies and asset classes, acting on both lead and local counsel mandates.
The role offers exposure to private equity, private debt, real estate, infrastructure and other alternative investment structures, as well as the opportunity to work on related structuring and transactional matters alongside colleagues from other practice areas.
You will be involved in complex and high-value matters, benefit from direct client exposure, and progressively take ownership of your work in an environment where technical excellence, commercial awareness and teamwork are highly valued.
Your responsibilities
As a Managing Associate, you will:
- Advise leading clients, including asset managers, private equity houses and institutional investors, on Luxembourg investment funds and related transactions
- Assist clients with the structuring, launch and ongoing operation of investment vehicles across a broad range of alternative investment strategies
- Deliver pragmatic and high-quality legal advice on regulatory and structuring matters
- Draft, review and negotiate fund documentation and related legal agreements
- Review and analyse investment products and fund structures under Luxembourg law
- Participate in the design and implementation of tailored solutions for clients
- Act as a day-to-day contact for clients and other stakeholders
- Liaise with Luxembourg authorities and regulators when required
- Work closely with partners and colleagues across practice groups on cross-border matters
- Support and coach junior lawyers and trainees as part of matter teams
- Contribute to internal know-how initiatives and knowledge sharing
- Participate in business development initiatives, pitches and client events
- You will work on diverse and often complex matters, requiring adaptability, sound judgement and a strong sense of ownership.
Your profile
- Master's degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent qualification is an asset)
- Qualified lawyer with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in investment funds in Luxembourg
- Strong technical grounding in investment funds, fund structuring and regulatory matters
- Exposure to a broad range of alternative investment fund structures and asset classes, including private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure, is highly valued
- While experience with regulated funds is welcome (such as UCITS, ELTIF, Part II), the role is particularly suited to lawyers who have developed broad exposure to alternative investment funds
- Excellent command of English; French and/or German would be considered a strong asset
- Strong analytical and drafting skills
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with a strong willingness to learn and develop
- Interest in innovative ways of working, including the use of technology and AI as part of the evolution of legal practice
