15 Oct 2026 Luxembourg

Job Description

CMS is a future-facing law firm. With more than 90 offices in over 45 countries and 7,200+ lawyers worldwide, we combine deep local market understanding with a global perspective. Active in Luxembourg since 2011, CMS Luxembourg now counts more than 70 lawyers, recognised genuine experts in their respective fields. The Firm provides comprehensive legal support to local and international clients, both for their Luxembourg transactions and their day-to-day operations.

Our Tax practice is experiencing sustained growth, and we are looking to recruit a Senior Associate to further strengthen our team in Luxembourg.

Your responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you will play a central role in advising leading international clients on complex and high-value tax matters. You will operate in a demanding, fast-paced environment where technical excellence and commercial awareness are equally critical.

You will, in particular:

  • Advise tier-one clients (private equity houses, multinational groups, financial institutions, real estate investors) on Luxembourg and cross-border tax structuring, transactions and reorganisations
  • Deliver high-impact, pragmatic tax advice on complex and often innovative matters
  • Draft and review sophisticated tax memoranda, opinions and transaction documentation to the highest professional standards
  • Take ownership of client relationships on a day-to-day basis, acting as a trusted contact and ensuring seamless service delivery
  • Work closely with partners and across practice groups on large-scale, multi-jurisdictional transactions
  • Supervise, coach and develop junior lawyers, contributing to the overall performance and cohesion of the team
  • Actively contribute to business development initiatives, including client pitches, publications and market visibility
  • Participate in the continuous development of the firm’s tax know-how and thought leadership positioning

You will be exposed to complex, high-profile matters and benefit from early responsibility and direct client access, allowing you to accelerate your professional development.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Law, Tax Law or Economics; an LL.M. or advanced tax qualification is a strong advantage
  • Qualified lawyer (or on track to qualification) with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in tax law in Luxembourg for a Senior Associate position, ideally gained within a leading law firm or top-tier advisory environment
  • Solid expertise in Luxembourg corporate tax and international tax structuring (experience in other tax matters (e.g. VAT) as well as on funds, PE or real estate taxation being a strong asset)
  • Excellent command of English and French; German would be an additional asset
  • Ability to handle complex matters with a high level of autonomy, while maintaining top quality standards
  • Strong analytical capabilities combined with a pragmatic, solution-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility with demanding clients and stakeholders
  • Team player with a proactive, entrepreneurial and performance-driven attitude

What we offer

  • Grow within a high-performance yet agile environment, where people are trusted early on and encouraged to take initiative
  • Be part of a young, dynamic and approachable team, where collaboration, accessibility and team spirit truly matter
  • Evolve in a culture where trust, respect and open communication are not just values, but daily practices
  • Enjoy a sustainable work environment that supports work-life balance, recognising that long-term performance goes hand in hand with well-being
