Matthieu De Donder is a Partner in CMS Luxembourg Corporate M&A practice group.
Matthieu has extensive experience advising, as lead counsel and local counsel, clients on domestic and cross-border corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, and restructurings, with a particular focus on private capital clients. He has a strong track record of acting for US and European private capital firms, including leading private equity and real estate sponsors, family offices, and institutional investors. His practice spans the full investment cycle, from structuring and managing Luxembourg investment platforms to advising on acquisitions and disposals, fundraisings, joint ventures, and management incentive plans.
Before joining CMS in 2026, Matthieu spent a decade at magic circle firms in Luxembourg and trained at leading Belgian and Benelux law firms. He is admitted as Avocat with the Brussels Bar and registered as a foreign lawyer on list IV of the Luxembourg Bar.
