Andrés Cabral is a Senior Associate at CMS Mexico specializing in entertainment and media law, with a focus on music, audiovisual production, copyright, and the creative industries. He advises a diverse range of clients including artists, producers, directors, publishers, distributors, production companies, and creative enterprises across all stages of content development and exploitation.
His practice encompasses the negotiation and structuring of recording, publishing, licensing, co-production, and distribution agreements, as well as copyright protection and catalog administration. He brings particular depth in clearance, chain of title analysis, royalty structures, and content monetization models across both music and audiovisual formats.
Prior to joining CMS, Andrés independently developed and led creative projects in the music and audiovisual industries, giving him a firsthand understanding of the production process and a practical perspective when advising clients on registrations, deal structuring, and contractual negotiations.
He, also supports clients in catalog-related transactions, content production agreements, and talent arrangements, while staying at the forefront of emerging issues at the intersection of art and technology. Across all matters, he guides clients through the legal and business complexities that define today's entertainment ecosystem. He holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and has an Entertainment Law and Business Certificate from Cornell University
