CMS advises MIH Allegro on its acquisition of Netretail Holding


CMS advised MIH Allegro on its acquisition of a controlling stake in Netretail Holding B.V., an online retailer in Central & Eastern Europe, from existing shareholders including Intel Capital and MCI Management.

MIH Allegro is a subsidiary of Naspers (JSE:NPN), a leading multinational media and e-commerce group. Naspers operates platforms that link users to media, e-commerce, advertising, content and means of communication.

Netretail and MIH Allegro are entering into a long-term partnership to build the next phase of growth in e-commerce in the CEE region.

CMS lawyers and support staff from five jurisdictions were involved in this transaction; namely Czech Republic, Hungary, The Netherlands, Poland and the UK.

The CMS team was led by David Bresnick (London) and Roman Tarlavski (Amsterdam) consisting amongst other of Jugpal Narinder, Martin Treagus, Matthew Burke, Christian Delgado, Damia van Laarhoven, Martijn van der Bie, Gordon Tichelaar and Pauline Toet.
