Marc van Zanten is a partner and director of the Banking & Finance group of our firm in Amsterdam. He specialises in insolvency law, civil procedural law and directors' and liability.
He has extensive experience as a trustee in bankruptcy, as an administrator in suspensions of payments and as a prospective trustee in a pre-pack. Marc also advises (international) companies on bankruptcy law issues, reorganisation and civil procedural law, including attachment and enforcement law. Marc is appointed by the Enterprise Chamber as an investigator in inquiry proceedings.
He regularly lectures on civil procedural law and bankruptcy law during various courses, guest lectures and conferences. Marc regularly publishes in professional journals and is a frequent guest on BNR radio.
He is also the editor of several articles in Kluwer Groene Serie Faillissementswet (Kluwer Green Series Bankruptcy Law).
Marc is a member of INSOLAD, the Dutch Association for Comparative and International Insolvency Law (NVRII), the Dutch Association for Procedural Law (NVVP) and the VIA (association of debt collection and litigation solicitors), among others.
Marc is a member of the Advisory Committee on Civil Procedural Law of the Dutch Bar Association.
Marc is a deputy judge at the Court of Appeal in 's-Hertogenbosch (civil law, commercial team I, including bankruptcy cases).
Finally, Marc is an external PhD candidate at the University of Groningen (Commercial Law and Labour Law department) and is working on a thesis on the pre-pack.
