Kluge advises NO-UK COM on its fibreoptic cable between Norway and UK

Tuesday, June 8, 2021

On 6 June 2021, installation of NO-UK COM’s submarine fibreoptic cable between Norway and United Kingdom started from Green Mountain’s data center at Rennesøy, Stavanger, with the Solstad Offshore CSV Normand Clipper.

The 700-kilometre-long high-capacity cable will be connecting the west coast of Norway with Newcastle in England and is expected to be in operation in Q4 2021. NO-UK is part of a wider network of existing submarine and terrestrial (in-land) cables operated by Altibox Carrier, which will connect Newcastle with Norway, Ireland, mainland Europe and ultimately the US.

A multi-discipline team from Kluge Advokatfirma AS has advised NO-UK COM, including Snorre Haukali and Espen Debes (corporate), Kjetil Stensvik and Camilla Grytten (contracts), Anders Heieren (tax), Axel Naustdal Cooper (VAT) and Dag Thomas Hanson (financing).
