Olav Todnem works primarily for developers, contractors and property companies in the area of property law, with special emphasis on contract work linked to major development projects, buying and selling of land, organisation of development companies and other working relationships in this regard, including settlement work (brokering) in connection with the conveyance of development areas.
A significant portion of Olav Todnem’s work has consisted of assistance in all phases of land acquisition for development purposes. He has assisted multiple players with negotiations and concluded more than 100 option- and land acquisition agreements of all kinds, where he provided assistance in the context of contract negotiations, conveyancing part of a title, and arranging security for the financing source and settlement. Olav is a licensed estate agent by virtue of his licence to practise law, and he is the head of Kluge’s settlement department, which has operated with an annual settlement volume of +/- NOK 1 billion over the past five years.
Olav Todnem also assists with development contract negotiations involving public authorities, reimbursement agreements with the public authorities and between private parties, as well as the execution of private expropriation for the construction of roads and facilities for handling water supply management and sewage treatment. In addition, Olav works with general planning law, as well as with building and construction law. He has some litigation assignments as well, including appraisals before the courts in connection with the aforementioned work.
As such, Olav Todnem has worked with appraisals and expropriation cases for more than 15 years, representing both public sector clients and landowners. He is currently engaged by a number of private landowners in connection with land acquisitions for several major road projects in the region.
