CMS advises Bank Pekao S.A. on the sale of Dom Inwestycyjny Xelion

International law firm CMS is advising Bank Pekao S.A, one of the largest financial institutions in CEE, on the sale of Dom Inwestycyjny Xelion to Quercus TFI S.A. The concluded agreement provides for the sale of 100% of the shares in Xelion, the largest independent distributor of investment products in Poland, to a subsidiary of Quercus TFI S.A., the first public mutual fund company in Poland.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second half of 2021. 

A CMS interdisciplinary team worked on the sale, led by Rafał Zwierz, attorney-at-law and partner who is head of the Corporate/M&A Department, while the day-to-day work was coordinated by Monika Szczotkowska, attorney-at-law. The team also included the following: Michał Sowiński, advocate, as well as Mateusz Mazur, Magdalena Mentrak, Aleksandra Dalecka and Natalia Szurnicka, lawyers from the transactions team. Regulatory advice was provided by Marek Trzos-Rastawiecki, attorney-at-law, counsel and leader of the Financial Regulations Team. Competition protection law advice was provided by Krzysztof Sikora, attorney-at-law and senior associate, under the supervision of Małgorzata Urbańska, partner and Head of the CMS Competition law practice.
