CMS has advised mBank on establishing the mAccelerator corporate venture capital fund which is considered the leading “fintech lab” programme in the CEE region, both in terms of the investment value and the number of potential users.
Funds of EUR 50 mln (over PLN 200 mln) are earmarked for the development of new technologies to help financial institutions meet the challenges of the fintech era. The fund intends to invest in young firms, which have the growth potential to become partners for global financial institutions.
CMS advised on the structuring and setting up of the fund and CMS lawyers will also support it’s day-to-day operations, which invests in the development and commercialisation of the newest technology
The CMS team working for mAccelerator was led by Łukasz Dynysiuk, counsel and comprised of Błażej Zagórski, counsel and legal advisor, Rafał Kluziak, advocate and senior associate, and Grzegorz Pączek, advocate and senior associate and Piotr Nowicki, senior associate from Corporate Department.
