CMS revamps Marketing and Business Development team in Poland

12 May 2022

Anna Czerniecka-Kotowska has taken on the role of leader of the Marketing and Business Development team at international law firm CMS in Poland - as the Head of Marketing & Communications. She has been performing this role since April - in close cooperation with Iwona Truszczyńska, the new Head of Practice & Sector Group BD in Poland.

Anna Czerniecka-Kotowska and Iwona Truszczyńska joined CMS in January 2022. Over the last few months, the Marketing and Business Development team has also been strengthened by: Ewa Cacaj (Business Development Manager), Weronika Domagalska (Marketing Assistant) and Małgorzata Zelek (Business Development Manager). The department now comprises eight people and will continue to be intensively developed within the firm.

“Every day, law creates interesting stories and gives pretexts for communication. We want to talk about it out loud, applying a wide range of non-standard marketing activities and the law firm’s communication capabilities, and setting unique standards in this area. Business development initiatives and tools are equally important. The synergy of marketing and BD activities will further enhance our strong market presence.” – says Andrzej Pośniak, Managing Partner of CMS in Poland. “Law firms are mainly known for their legal teams - from our perspective, support teams are equally important. That's why we want to form an even more professional team within CMS, opening up to talent from outside the legal industry as well.”

At the same time, CMS is continuing to develop its key practices - including Real Estate and Construction, Dispute Resolution and Banking and Finance. The firm is also in the process of relocating its Warsaw office: at the turn of 2022 and 2023, it will move to one of the top floors of the Varso Tower. In what will be the highest office building in the European Union, the firm will create a cultureplace – in line with the firm’s strategy – which will be aimed at creating a space that supports the development of relationships within the team and with clients. The new office will be subject to WELL certification, testing the space for the health and wellbeing of its employees. Strengthening organisational culture through investment in innovation, functionality and space is an important element of CMS’s identity.

Anna Czerniecka-Kotowska has over 20 years of experience in marketing communications. She created and developed the communications department of Red Bull in Poland, being responsible for communications connected with the key projects of this brand, such as Red Bull X-Fighters at Warsaw's Stadion X-lecia, Red Bull Stratos or Red Bulletin. She also co-operated with the Headlines agency (one of the first public relations agencies in Poland), GSK, and PKN Orlen. Anna graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the University of Warsaw.

Iwona Truszczyńska worked for the Polish branch of Deloitte Legal. She also gained experience in positions related to business development and strategy at White & Case, Domański Zakrzewski Palinka and Chałas i Wspólnicy. Iwona graduated from the Faculty of Law and completed postgraduate studies in data analysis and big data mining, as well as counteracting terrorist threats.

The CMS Marketing and Business Development team in Poland also comprises: Katarzyna Brodowska (Business Development Manager), Monika Pawłowska (Business Development Manager) and Małgorzata Popiel (Employer Branding Specialist).
