Further promotions at CMS in Poland

Mateusz Wosiek and Andrzej Zając from the Real Estate and Construction Team, as well as Maciej Ziółkowski from the Energy and Projects Department, have been promoted to Counsel at CMS.

Mateusz Wosiek, attorney-at-law, specialises in transactional real estate law, as well as administrative law connected with the development process. 

For nearly 10 years, he has advised real property investors on acquisition, sale, leaseback, JV transactions, management and commercialisation of commercial real estate, including office buildings, warehouse and logistics facilities, shopping centres, as well as hotels in Poland and in Central-Eastern Europe. 

He has extensive experience in preparing and conducting complex development projects, especially for clients from the logistics, industrial and renewable energy sectors. 

His area of expertise also includes comprehensive advice connected with management of real estate projects, including in particular negotiating various types of lease agreements and operating agreements.

His recent projects include the sale of the tallest office building in Cracow, the construction of one of the largest logistics centres on the Freedom Motorway, and negotiating a lease agreement for the first Polish boutique of an exclusive fashion brand. 

He has been with CMS since 2010. He completed legal studies and a post-graduate course in real estate trading at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of A. Mickiewicz, Poznań.

Andrzej Zając, advocate, has over 10 years’ experience in real estate transactions, financing, and development processes. 

He advises on development projects (including the creation of joint ventures and development processes), as well as on sales and purchases of assets and of logistics, office, business and hotel companies. 

He has acted for clients from the following sectors: real estate, banking and finance, manufacturing, FMCG, energy and mining. 

His recent work includes such projects as the sale of office buildings in Warsaw city centre, construction and block sale of a warehouse portfolio, the purchase and sale of a hotel in Cracow, as well as the sale of office buildings in Cracow. 

He has been with CMS since 2017. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Maciej Ziółkowski, attorney-at-law, for over 11 years now he has advised the largest Polish and international energy firms. He has extensive experience in advising clients from the renewable energy sector on transaction and project issues. He also successfully acts for clients from the oil and gas sector, especially handling complex investments.

Maciej has recently worked on offshore projects on the Baltic Sea, above all on issues involving the construction of undersea gas pipelines, offshore drilling platforms, as well as for companies planning to construct offshore wind farms. He has also recently advised clients on the acquisition of a number of onshore wind farms, including in one of the largest transactions on the renewable energy market in Poland: the acquisition and construction of the 132 MW Jasna wind farm.His professional experience also includes advising on the development of new chemical facilities and power generation units. Maciej’s area of expertise includes drafting and negotiating complex construction contracts.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw, and the American Law Center at the University of Florida and University of Warsaw. He has been with CMS since 2007. 

The Counsel nominations became effective as of 1 July 2019. In addition to these appointments, CMS Poland promoted ten people to the position of senior lawyer, five attorneys to associates, and three to lawyer positions.
