Anna Hergottova is a Counsel in the Banking and Finance Department at CMS Poland.

Anna has over fifteen years of experience in advising on financing transactions, acting for both financial institutions and investors.

Anna’s field of expertise includes providing legal advice on cross-border CEE financing and local real estate acquisition financing and project financing. She has successfully advised both finance-providers and borrowers in international transactions executed in Central and Eastern Europe (including in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria).

Anna is admitted to practise as an advocate in Czech Republic and Slovakia and is a registered foreign advocate in Poland. Anna post-gradually studied internal business transactions law at Central University in Budapest, Hungary and at Emory Law School in Atlanta during which time she co-authored a book on enforcement of commercial contracts in Central and Eastern Europe. 

Prior to joining the Banking and Finance Department at CMS Poland, Anna worked for another international law firm and has been recognised over the years as a ‘key figure’ in Legal 500 and a ‘notable practitioner’ in IFLR rankings.

  • Representing German banks in financing of a portfolio of shopping malls across CEE.
  • Representing a New York lender in financing of the tallest modular building in New York (Mariott NoMad) using modules custom-built in Poland.
  • Representing a joint venture of UK and Hungary investors in financing of a railway station re-development project in Poznan, Poland.
  • Representing a syndicate of international banks in financing extension and refinancing of over EUR 700 million retail portfolio in Poland.
  • Representing an Israeli investor in financing of cinema halls across Poland.
  • Representing German banks in financing of a portfolio of logistics parks across Poland.
  • Representing an international investor in acquisition financing of a skyscraper in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Representing a Czech investor in acquisition of retail parks across Poland.
  • Representing a Czech investor in acquisition of logistics parks across Poland.
  • Representing a joint venture of international investors in acquisition financing of a portfolio of logistics parks in Poland and Czech Republic.
