Jan Bujak is an advocate and a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department at CMS.

He specialises in financial, labour, and construction disputes, as well as broadly understood disputes concerning commercial agreements. Jan represents clients across various industries, including banking, insurance, employment, energy, and the technology industry. He advises clients not only in litigation, but also in the pre-litigation phase, always seeking an efficient solution to avoid matters proceeding to court.

In particular, Jan has represented financial institutions in numerous proceedings concerning financial products and agreements. He has also advised and represented employers in numerous disputes initiated by employees including regarding appeals against termination of a contract, workplace accidents, claims related to overtime work, discrimination, as well as claims for determination of the existence of an employment relationship.

During his studies, Jan completed an Erasmus+ scholarship programme at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

  • An anonymous client in proceedings concerning claims for the reimbursement of expenditures on immovable properties, with the total value of the dispute exceeding PLN 40m.
  • Two banks in a series of disputes regarding denominated and indexed loan agreements.
  • A multinational technology and e-commerce company in disputes brought by employees, including providing ongoing legal support.
  • An insurer in group action proceedings regarding insurance contracts.
  • A bank in a dispute regarding claims resulting from a bank guarantee.
  • An international company from the IT industry in numerous disputes initiated by employees regarding mobbing allegations and determination of the existence of the employment relationship.
  • A bank in four disputes against its former employees regarding claims for payment for overtime hours and an appeal against termination of a contract.
