Katarzyna Lesińska is a counsel in the Banking and Finance practice and member of English law finance team in Poland at CMS Poland.

She is qualified as an English solicitor with over 15 years’ experience advising clients on international finance transactions with a focus on corporate finance and project finance. Kasia’s experience includes a one-year secondment to the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, where she advised on transactions in Poland and the Baltic States, and a three-year secondment to Allens in Sydney, where she advised on a number of financing transactions in Australia and the Oceania region. Before joining CMS, Kasia worked at Linklaters in Warsaw.

Relevant experience

  • Benban PV portfolio, Egypt, advising an international financial institution on the Credit Enhancement Facility and hedging arrangements in connection with the first green private bond in Egypt to refinance Scatec’s Benban PV portfolio.
  • Żabka Polska, advising an IFI on the PLN 310m and EUR 7.5m senior secured ESG KPI-linked capex financing for a chain of convenience stores in Poland.
  • Światłowód Inwestycje, advising a 50/50 joint venture between Orange Polska S.A. and the APG fund on a EUR 690m (approx. PLN 3.15bn) financing by commercial lenders and EIB for the development of a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network for approx. 1.7m households in Poland.
  • Tauron Polska Energia, advising Tauron on a number of sustainability linked loans, including PLN 4bn financing from a consortium of Polish and international banks, and several bilateral financing transactions with a total value of PLN 4.9bn.
  • PV Project in Poland, advising the financing banks on PLN 175m financing for the construction and operation of a solar power plant with a capacity of 70MW by a subsidiary of ZEPAK (coal mining group).
