Krzysztof Wasiewicz is an advocate and a senior associate in the Banking & Finance Practice at CMS Poland. Krzysztof is also licensed restructuring advisor in Poland. 

He focuses on insolvency and restructuring law and on transactions involving distressed assets. He also brings substantial experience in complex litigation and court and out‑of‑court enforcement proceedings.

For more than eight years, Krzysztof has advised banks and corporates across the full spectrum of restructuring and bankruptcy matters – from pre‑insolvency workouts and standstill arrangements to formal restructuring procedures and insolvency recoveries. His transactional work spans sales of non‑performing exposures, secondary debt trades and related security enforcement, while his disputes practice covers high‑value claims and judgment enforcement.

Before joining CMS, he spent two years with A&O Shearman and over six years with WKB Lawyers.

Relevant experience

  • A group of banks involved in a syndicated financing on the restructuring and subsequent sale of loan receivables with an aggregate face value of nearly PLN 0.5bn.
  • A creditor pursuing claims of approximately PLN 0.6bn in the bankruptcy proceedings of a company operating in the fruit‑processing sector.
  • A creditor in the restructuring proceedings of Onico S.A., where the total amount of claims exceeded PLN 220m.
