Maciej Olejnik is a Counsel in the CMS IP/TMC Group. He is an attorney-at-law and a patent attorney.

He has advised and represented clients on all aspects of Intellectual Property Law for over 10 years. His experience includes drafting and negotiating agreements for licencing and transferring intellectual property rights (including patents, trademarks and know how), participating in proceedings before the Polish Patent Office, managing a portfolio of industrial property rights and providing advisory services related to brand protection strategies. One of Maciej’s main areas of interest is the media industry, where he provides advisory services on agreements related to content distribution (including audio-visual content). Maciej has also advised entities from the retail, business consultancy, manufacturing and defence industries.

Maciej’s experience includes disputes concerning the protection of intellectual property rights. He has represented clients in proceedings before the Polish Patent Office (e.g. in cases for extinguishing and invalidating protective rights to trademarks), as well as before state courts in cases concerning infringement of industrial property rights and combating acts of unfair competition (e.g. against entities that market look-alike goods, entities that apply misleading markings and unfair advertising).
