Przemysław Janczak is an attorney-at-law and a senior associate in the Banking & Finance practice at CMS Poland.

He has over 10 years of experience advising banks, investment firms, investment funds, and FinTech companies on financial regulatory matters. His practice focuses on regulatory product structuring—particularly payment, investment, and crypto products—as well as licensing, AML/CFT compliance, and cybersecurity.

Przemysław regularly represents clients before financial and AML/CFT regulators in the context of ongoing supervision, inspections, and administrative proceedings. He has advised and represented clients in high-profile AML/CFT and data protection cases before Polish administrative courts.

He has been individually recommended in The Legal 500 international rankings in Banking & Finance and recognised as a Rising Star in the IFLR1000 ranking for Financial Services Regulatory.

Prior to joining CMS, Przemysław gained experience at a top-tier Polish law firm and as an in-house lawyer at both international and domestic financial institutions.

Relevant experience

  • Advising and negotiating agreements to ensure compliance with DORA on behalf of one of the largest cloud service providers for financial institutions.
  • Representing a bank in administrative court proceedings concerning the imposition of an administrative fine related to AML deficiencies.
  • Supporting a bank in the implementation of internal processes and contractual frameworks to comply with outsourcing and DORA requirements.
  • Representing payment institutions during an inspection conducted by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority with respect to AML/CFT processes.
  • Advising clients on obtaining licenses to conduct payment services as a national payment institution.
