Stanisław Michałowski, PhD is an advocate and a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department at CMS. 

Stanislaw’s legal interests include issues related to civil law, commercial law, criminal business law and defence industry. He has vast experience in rendering legal services to international clients within the scope of litigation, amicable dispute resolution, contract negotiation, and asset tracing and recovery.

Relevant experience

  • Participation in the negotiation and implementation of several offset agreements concluded between the Government of the Republic of Poland and leading global defence sector entities (representing the Polish Ministry of National Defence, Foreign Suppliers, and Polish Offsetees).
  • Comprehensive regulatory advice on concession and export control regulations related to military equipment and dual-use items, including classification of products and applications for the issuance and modification of concessions.
  • Investors and contractors in complex construction disputes before state and arbitration courts, including representation of an engineering and construction company in a dispute with a local government unit concerning a stadium construction project, an investor in a case regarding defective HVAC systems, and a concessionaire in matters related to the financing and operation of a motorway.
  • Representation of international clients, including a litigation fund and a cryptocurrency exchange, in criminal proceedings concerning fraud, misappropriation, and money laundering.
