Aleksandra Kuźnicka-Cholewa is an attorney-at-law, doctor of law, and a Senior Associate in IP/TMC practice at CMS.

She specialises in intellectual property law and represents clients in court cases concerning such issues as infringements of patents, trademarks, copyrights and moral rights, as well as issues related to counteracting unfair competition. Aleksandra represents clients in proceedings before the Polish Patent Office concerning patent and trademark invalidation. She also assists clients in drafting and negotiating complex IP-related agreements, including technology assignment and licensing agreements. Aleksandra is also involved in setting up an IP protection strategy for clients in various sectors.

Her experience includes advice for international, innovative pharmaceutical companies on issues related to enforcing their IP rights (and specifically patents) in Poland, parallel imports, and granting supplementary protection certificates, including representation in court proceedings. Aleksandra also advises clients on commercialising the results of research and development work in relation to IP rights.

Aleksandra has over 11 years of experience in providing professional IP advice that she has gained at leading international and Polish law offices. Aleksandra is also a member of the European Commission’s group of experts on licensing and valuation of standard essential patents, as well as an author of various publications in the field of IP.
