Aleksandra Kuźnicka-Cholewa, PhD, is an attorney-at-law and counsel in the Intellectual Property and Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice at CMS Poland.
She has over 15 years’ experience in advising clients from various sectors on IP licensing and enforcement, particularly regarding patents. An internationally recognised expert in standard essential patents (SEPs), she advises both industry players and policymakers on SEP-related issues.
She represents clients in court proceedings involving issues such as infringements of patents, trademarks, designs and copyright, as well as matters related to counteracting unfair competition and IP invalidation. She also supports clients in structuring and negotiating complex IP-related agreements, including technology transfer, licensing, and commercialisation contracts, and in shaping their IP protection strategies.
She was a member of the European Commission’s expert group on licensing and valuation of SEPs and organises international top-notch SEP-related conferences. She is also an assistant professor in the Institute of Law Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences and has authored numerous publications in the field of IP.
