Hospitality Matters – Spring 2017

1 min read

On this page

CMS is delighted to provide you with the latest edition of Hospitality Matters, our bulletin for the hotels and leisure industry. This publication explores recent legal developments in the hotels and leisure sector that should be of interest for hotel owners and operators alike.

In this edition, we have three articles covering the following:

  • A Brexit Q&A addressing many of the issues and uncertainties that the UK’s leave vote and the imminent triggering of Article 50 have brought, and may yet bring, to the industry;
  • Belgium’s approach to regulating the ‘homestay’ industry, with a primary focus on one of the main players in this area, Airbnb; and
  • The proposed changes to business rates in the UK, including a detailed look at the new process to challenge a valuation.

If you would like to discuss any of the issues in this edition of Hospitality Matters or wish to provide any feedback, please contact me, the author of the relevant article or your usual contact at CMS.
