CMS Sofia acted as lead legal advisor to DSK Bank AD and OTP Bank Plc, as lenders, and the respective sponsors, leading Bulgarian renewable energy developers, in connection with the project financing of significant renewable energy initiatives in Bulgaria, representing a co-location project in the municipality of Razgrad.
The financing package of approx. EUR 73 million development facility and EUR 7 million VAT loan will enable the construction and operation of a PV plant with a capacity of 115 MWDC (99.9. MWAC) and a 76 MW/ 152 MWh BESS. This initiative stands as a pivotal step in strengthening Bulgaria’s renewable energy sector and accelerating the nation’s shift toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy portfolio.
CMS provided comprehensive legal support throughout all stages of the transaction — from initial due diligence, through the structuring and negotiation of financing documentation, to signing — ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all parties involved.
