ESG Exchange

Welcome to ‘ESG Exchange’ - conversations about the real world implications of ESG to help manage business risk and identify opportunities.

ESG (environmental, social and governance) issues are increasingly recognised as interrelated business issues, critical to long-term shareholder value and business resilience, that require to be monitored at board level.  The pandemic has accelerated the ESG agenda, and as we look forward to 2021 and the steps needed to rebuild our economy, climate risk and responsible business principles feature heavily in these discussions.

ESG Exchange brings together a range of CMS lawyers and experts to discuss the real world implications of ESG and explore the practical issues which are faced by businesses arising out of the sustainability agenda, supply chain issues, business ethics, social justice concerns, employment practices, and board diversity and accountability.

ESG factors have moved from being a niche concern to a strategic board level priority across all sectors and jurisdictions. Whether a business is a financial institution, an energy company, or a tech start-up – all companies with a future must now focus on ESG as a business imperative.

Episode #5  - ESG risks: investigations and disputes

In this final session of our launch series of ESG Exchange, we reflect on how the rise in prominence of ESG issues has translated into a corresponding growth in ESG-related investigations and disputes, the issues and risks these raise, and how to deal with them.

Jae Fassam is joined by Alison Woods, Employment partner, and Colin Hutton, Disputes partner, to explore these issues.
