CMS advises German government and Federal State of Lower Saxony on MSC Cruises' order to Meyer Werft for up to six cruise ships with a volume of ten billion euros
Hamburg – The cruise line MSC Cruises S.A. (MSC Cruises) has placed an order with Meyer Werft GmbH (Meyer Werft) for the construction of up to six cruise ships of the "New Frontier" class with a total volume of ten billion euros. The German government and the Federal State of Lower Saxony are shareholders in Meyer Werft. The order will ensure full capacity utilisation at Meyer Werft for years to come.
A CMS team led by Dr Henrik Drinkuth provided comprehensive advice to the German government and the Federal State of Lower Saxony.
Meyer Werft, with its headquarters in Papenburg, is one of the world's leading shipyards and is known for the design, construction and sale of cruise ships, river cruise ships and ferries, with facilities including two shipyards in Germany.
MSC Cruises S.A., headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, is one of the world's leading cruise lines. The company currently operates a fleet of 23 cruise ships.
