CMS advises Nordex on successful closing of sale of wind power project in Honduras

Hamburg - Wind power company Nordex has sold a wind power project in San Marcos de Colón in Honduras to French TotalEren S.A.. The project has a wind capacity of 112 megawatts. The power generation will be able to supply electricity to about 460,000 people in Honduras and at the same time avoid emissions of 390,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The project marks one of the largest foreign investments in renewable energy in Central America. The closing of the transaction, signed in March 2022, took place in May.

CMS Germany advised Nordex with a team on all legal aspects of the sale. Certain outstanding conditions had to be fulfilled before the sale could be closed.
CMS already advised Nordex on the sale of its European wind project development portfolio in 2020, among other transactions.
