CMS advises shareholders of software provider Softgarden on sale to Investcorp Technology Partners

Berlin – Technology investor Investcorp Technology Partners has acquired Softgarden, a human resources (HR) software provider. The seller is a group of investors including Cipio Partners, Brandenburg Kapital, Neuhaus and the two company founders, Stefan Schüffler and Dominik Faber. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction is currently awaiting the usual clearance from the competition authorities.

A CMS team headed by Dr Jörg Zätzsch and Dr Friedrich von Spee advised the Softgarden shareholders on all legal aspects of the transaction. CMS’s Berlin-based technology team has advised on many successful start-up exits.

Softgarden e-recruiting GmbH, which is headquartered in Berlin, provides a software solution for innovative recruiting. A software-as-a-service platform covering the entire digital recruitment process enables companies to streamline and manage their recruitment process in a fully automated and data-privacy compliant manner. Softgarden lists more than 700 leading companies from across all sectors among its customers. Established in 2005, the technology company has grown strongly in recent years and is EBITDA positive. Investcorp intends to invest further capital into the Softgarden business in order to drive expansion in the company’s core markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Company co-founder Stefan Schüffler is committed to remaining involved in Softgarden’s future development.

Investcorp is a global provider and manager of alternative investments for high-net-worth private and institutional clients worldwide. The firm has around 390 employees across branches in Bahrain, New York, London, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha and Singapore. Assets under management at the Investcorp Group totalled around USD 22.6 billion as at 30 June 2018.
