Hamburg – CTS EVENTIM AG, which is listed on the SDAX exchange, is pressing ahead with its successful expansion programme and acquiring 100% of Hamburg-based See Tickets Germany GmbH, the owner of Ticket Online Group. The vendor is See Tickets International BV in Amsterdam, 40 percent of whose shares are held by musical producer Stage Entertainment BV and 60 percent by private equity company Parcom (ING Group).
A 12-year ticketing contract was signed with Stage Entertainment Germany at the same time as the See Tickets Germany Group was acquired. The contract provides CTS EVENTIM with exclusive ticketing access to Stage Entertainment’s exciting productions, which include worldwide successes such as “The Lion King”, “Mamma Mia”, “Tarzan” and “Holiday on Ice”. Going forward, Stage Entertainment's attractive musical content will also be offered via the distribution channels of the EVENTIM Group.
See Tickets Germany sells more than 20 million tickets a year, mainly for musicals and cultural events. In addition to its own Internet portal www.ticketonline.com, tickets are available from a number of partner websites and through ticket offices, travel agencies and hotels.
CTS EVENTIM is the European market leader in ticketing and one of the leading providers of live entertainment. So far, more than 80 million tickets for well over 100,000 events have been sold annually in 20 European countries using systems developed and marketed by the EVENTIM Group. In addition to more than 8,000 stationary ticket outlets throughout Europe, sales via the Internet and especially via the www.eventim.de and www.getgo.de portals are gaining increasing importance.
