Lambda Physik AG, Göttingen, has acquired TuiLaser AG which is domiciled in Munich. A team from the
CMS Hasche Sigle office in Frankfurt advised Lambda Physik and its parent company, laser technology
specialist, Coherent Inc., Santa Clara, California on the transaction. Details of the purchase
price were not disclosed.
Lambda Physik is a leading worldwide company in the development and manufacture of excimer
lasers for applications in the area of industry, scientific research and medicine. TuiLaser AG
specialises in the production of excimer and solid-state lasers and is a leading supplier of
compact excimer lasers for medical apparatus. Due to its solid-state lasers Tui Laser AG has a
leading role in the growth segment of identity card marking. This acquisition strengthens the
position of Lambda Physik with regard to excimer lasers and increases the range of solid-state
lasers offered by the Coherent group.
