The European holding company Nimbus has acquired the Ergocast foundry in Jünkerath from Demag
Ergotech GmbH, a company belonging to mpm Mannesmann Plastics Machinery. This investment will fund
technical and commercial improvements to satisfy the requirements of the global market. Details of
the purchase price were not disclosed. A team led by Alexander Taft, Munich partner of CMS Hasche
Sigle, provided advice on this transaction.
The originally Dutch holding company Nimbus has majority shareholdings in approx. 20 small and
medium-sized businesses across Europe with more than 3000 staff and a sales volume of approx. one
billion euros. The portfolio principally comprises companies in the mechanical engineering,
automotive supply and tooling manufacturers sector. There is already one foundry in the
portfolio.
Ergocast produces more than 18,000 tonnes of complex cast parts annually; these are used
worldwide in energy, power and wind technology, hydraulics and mechanical and plant engineering.
Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, the ZF group and the Mannesmann Plastics Machinery group are among its
major customers. The foundry has more than 260 employees.
