Reach Media A/S belonging to the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla sold its holding in the Netzeitung group to Berliner Verlag on 08.06.2007. The purchase agreement is still subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office.

In addition to the Netzeitung, the first German daily newspaper which appears only on the Internet, the Netzeitung group also includes the Internet portals NetDoktor.de, golem.de and autogazette.de and has a stake in the Berlin radio station 100,6. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.

In July 2006 Orkla sold parts of its media business in seven countries to the investment company Mecom belonging to the British financial investor David Montgomery. Orkla employs approx. 34,000 employees in the food, finance and industry sectors.
