Leipzig – Professor Stefan Haack has been working as a lawyer in the Real Estate and Public practice since the start of January. Following teaching posts at the universities of Leipzig, Mainz, Potsdam and Kaliningrad, the 39-year-old was most recently (2009 to 2014) Professor of Public Law at the University of Bonn.
Dr Heralt Hug, managing partner at the CMS location in Leipzig where the external hire now works, said: "We are delighted that Dr Haack has joined us as a proven expert in public commercial law. Together we can now broaden our growth strategy in Central Germany and further expand our excellent market position."
"Prof. Haack is an outstanding addition to a team that already provides top-class services in local government commercial law, economic constitutional law, public-sector media and telecommunications law and EU law (in particular European basic freedoms and state aid law)," said Dr Andreas Otto, head of the Real Estate and Public practice. "This underlines the high level of competence that our clients appreciate so much in CMS."
Dr Stefan Haack is excited about his new role: "I consciously decided to join CMS Hasche Sigle because of the opportunity to work on interesting professional challenges at the intersection between academia and practice."
Dr Stefan Haack is a member of the Association of German Constitutional Law Lecturers (VDStRL) and the Societas Iuris Publici Europaei (SIPE). Having been accredited as a professor in 2007, he was granted the right to lecture on Public Law, European Law and General Political Theory. He has published widely in these fields.
