The Handbook for Specialists in Commercial and Corporate Law (Handbuch des Fachanwalts Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht) will be available in bookstores for the first time by the end of this week. The new publication is by Dr Wolf-Georg von Rechenberg, partner at CMS Hasche Sigle and Dr Helmut Büchel, presiding judge at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court (retired). Over 650 advance orders have been placed with Luchterhandverlag (part of the legal publishing group of Wolters Kluwer Deutschland) which is unusual at such an early stage.
The book is written by practitioners for practitioners and contains functional systematic information on all relevant areas of the law which can be utilised with ease. Moreover, not only a specialist in training, but also a practitioner who must deal with specialised material on a daily basis will find valuable assistance in this handbook. With checklists, overviews and practical tips, this comprehensive work provides insight in the principles of accounting, tax and insolvency law in addition to commercial and corporate law. There is also an elaborate section on procedural law.
"We are pleased with this milestone in commercial and corporate law and believe that the time and effort invested by all of those involved has been worth it. The handbook is a current work which contains the latest case law and legislation." states the editor von Rechenberg. It also includes the Modernisation of Limited Liability Companies Legislation and Abuse Combating Act ("MoMiG"), the government draft of the Accounting Law Modernisation Act (BilMoG) and the Rome I Regulation*. Additionally, the concept and content are in alignment with the Code of Conduct of Lawyers in Specialist Fields (Fachanwaltsordnung). The 36 authors, eight alone from the law firm CMS Hasche Sigle, completed an excellent work and have put a truly practical handbook on the market. All authors are proven experts in their fields, Rechenberg added.
