Berlin – British publication The Lawyer has recognised CMS Hasche Sigle with its new "European Award Law Firm of the Year – Germany" title. The highly regarded journal for the European legal market announced its decision at a major gala event in Barcelona yesterday evening.

Explaining its choice of winner at the awards ceremony, the jury stressed that CMS Hasche Sigle had an impressive year behind it, adding that the corporate practice, one of the largest in Germany, had maintained its performance with another very good year. CMS Hasche Sigle was described as a successful firm "in full flight and going places". The jury also highlighted the firm’s work with Chinese clients and the appointment of its managing partner to the chair of the CMS organisation.

Cornelius Brandi, managing partner of CMS Hasche Sigle: "Superb, an outstanding achievement for the firm, but not unexpected. The award has definitely been earned because our teams are among the best in the market. Congratulations! As well as demonstrating the strength and quality of our practice groups, the award confirms that CMS Hasche Sigle is extremely well positioned in these economically challenging times. We have been helped by the fact that we are one of the few law firms to have continually extended our full-service approach at all key business locations and thus have a very strong presence." Its combination of cross-border expertise and local roots and knowledge allows CMS Hasche Sigle to really stand out as a law firm, he added.
