Cosima Gräfin von Rechteren advises and represents German and international clients in complex commercial disputes before German courts and in national and international arbitration proceedings.
She has extensive experience in high-value and strategically significant disputes, frequently involving cross-border elements and complex contractual, factual and valuation issues. Her practice covers a broad range of commercial disputes, including D&O matters, post-transaction and other contractual disputes as well as disputes relating to energy, real estate and significant commercial assets and investments.
Cosima regularly advises clients on dispute strategy from the early assessment of potential claims and risks through to court or arbitration proceedings and negotiated resolutions. She combines extensive contentious experience with a pragmatic approach and a strong focus on her clients’ commercial objectives.
Cosima started her legal career in 2008 at Allen & Overy in Frankfurt before joining Bär & Karrer AG in Zurich, where she practised from 2010 to 2016 and was admitted to the Swiss Bar in 2014. She joined CMS in 2017 as Counsel and was promoted to Principal Counsel in 2021.
