Stefan Sieling has extensive know-how of management and employee profit-sharing schemes, stock option programmes and similar share schemes and incentives. He also advises his clients on business acquisitions as well as share deals, always taking strategic considerations into account. Stefan has special expertise in the German public-sector banking industry and has in recent years advised state-owned regional banks and the German Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe on numerous M&A transactions.

He joined CMS in 1995. In 1997, he was seconded to Tissel & Co Advokatfirma AB in Stockholm. He became a partner in 2000. Stefan is also responsible for the CMS Knowledge Management and Legal Tech Teams.

  • Advising Sparkassen Finanzgruppe on setting up a joint venture for the investment in the paydirekt payment system
  • Advising Holtzbrinck Publishing Group on numerous transactions, most recently on the global merger of Macmillan Science and Education (inter alia "Nature") with the Springer Science + Business Media
  • Advising an international management team in the Brenntag AG Group on introducing, administering and implementing an equity-based management participation programme until exit
  • Advising the Kärcher company group on introducing a management participation programme for key employees in a subsidiary
  • Advising an international management team of a global foodstuff supplier on introducing an equity-based participation programme
  • Advising an international management team of a worldwide leading medical technology company on introducing a management participation programme in connection with the entry of a private equity investor
