Stephan Dorn has more than ten years of experience representing clients in patent litigation before German courts and, since 2023, before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). His clients mainly include companies from the automotive and consumer electronics sectors. The infringement and opposition proceedings he represents clients in often focus on communication technologies (mobile telephony, Wi-Fi, voice, audio and video coding) and usually have a cross-border dimension. Stephan Dorn has in-depth experience in enforcing and defending standard-essential patents (SEP litigation), FRAND licensing terms and complex licensing agreements. He is ranked as "one to watch" for Patent Litigation in the renowned industry publication JUVE Patent.
Stephan Dorn started his career as a lawyer at a large international commercial law firm where he most recently worked as counsel. He joined CMS in 2025.
