Carlos Aguilar is head of the Dispute Resolution department at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo. Carlos possesses vast professional experience in matters involving criminal, civil, corporate and constitutional law, taking part in numerous arbitration and legal proceedings before the Provincial Courts, the National Court, the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. In recent years, his professional activities have been especially focused on financial criminal law.

Additionally, he has been ranked in band 1 in dispute resolution by the main and most prestigious legal directories such as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for several years in a row.

  • Carlos has advised and defended countless individuals and entities in all types of disputes and proceedings, with an endless and impressive list of occasions in which he has acted as counsel in some of Spain’s most important cases heard before the Provincial Courts, High Court and Supreme Court over recent years. He has also presided over the design and implementation of criminal compliance programmes in financial institutions, listed companies and State-owned enterprises.
