Unowhy has announced the conclusion of its second round of fundraising from private investors and the investment fund 123Venture. The funds raised, amounting to €2.8m, will strengthen the company's resources, underpinning its growth and supporting the development of QOOQ, the kitchen touchpad it created.
Launched by Unowhy in October 2009, QOOQ is a new concept in interactive multimedia cookery coaching which brings together the two worlds of cuisine and high technology. Unowhy, which is involved in every aspect of the product, from designing the touchscreen and developing the interface to producing content, can rely on the participation of more than 80 renowned chefs.
The new finance will enable Unowhy to expand the range and make the content and services mobile by providing them over the internet, opening up access to QOOQ from all computers and touchpads, including the iPad. The goal is to make the QOOQ brand the industry standard in cookery coaching, no matter what device is used for access.
Unowhy was advised on the legal and tax issues relating to this project by the firm of CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre, with Christophe Blondeau, partner, and Thomas Hains, associate, dealing with the Corporate aspects, and Laurent Hepp, partner, and Amandine Trucy, associate, dealing with the tax aspects.
