Tax Survey Department recruits a new expert in the person of Elisabeth Ashworth.
Holder of a DEA of Business Public Law [University post-graduate research degree] from the University of Paris X Nanterre, admitted at the National Tax School in 1988, Elisabeth Ashworth was a civil servant over 20 years to Tax Administration. In her capacity as head of the department in charge of rights to deduction in the VAT Practice Area (1997-2003) within the Tax Legislation Direction, she was involved to treat major litigation cases which the French State had to defend before the European Court of Justice and the State Council (Conseil d'Etat).
Elisabeth Ashworth has piloted (2003-2007) within the Tax Control Sub-Direction a team in charge of technical assessments of corporate tax situations or of public entities and acted as interface between Audit Service and Tax Legislation Direction for applying regulations in force and scrutinizing for opinion new statutes.
As Division Director in 2005, she joined in 2007 the Tax Audit National Direction until her recruitment by CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre on 19 May 2008, where she practises as a Lawyer teamed-up with 30 VAT-Experts whose 8 partners.
Recently this pole appointed two other renowned experts: Daniel Gutmann as of counsel, Professor at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and, as partner, Stéphane Austry, Master of Appeal to the State Council (Conseil d'Etat).
