Geoffrey Levesque joins the Banking & Finance team at CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats to develop its project financing practice

The Banking, Finance, Capital Markets & Insurance department at CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats is being reinforced with the arrival within the team led by Laurent Mion, partner, of Geoffrey Levesque as counsel, responsible for project financing activity.

With over 15 years’ experience in finance, Geoffrey has developed an expertise in project financing, particularly in the field of infrastructure and energy, in relation to both greenfield and brownfield projects, refinancing, acquisition financing and privatisations.

Geoffrey’s arrival is aimed to reinforce the firm’s offering in “infrastructure” and “energy” sectoral practices in close collaboration with the Public Law team led by François Tenailleau and the Energy team led by Christophe Barthelémy. As part of his involvement in the banking and finance department, Geoffrey’s role will also include providing support to other teams in the firm, particularly the Africa Practice, the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions and Real-Estate and Construction Law teams and contributing to the work of the CMS Banking & Finance Practice Group which has 500 lawyers.

Geoffrey began his career with SG Archibald – Andersen Legal in Lyon in 1999. In 2001, he joined the Banking and Finance team at Allen & Overy in Paris. In 2006, he was posted to the firm's London office. In 2009, he was appointed Counsel by Allen & Overy. He joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris as Counsel in 2014.
