Senegal: CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre’s Africa team advises GBfoods in relation to the takeover of Jumbo's production and distribution activity.
CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre’s Africa team acted as advisor to food group GBfoods, which owns Gallina Blanca and Avecrem, in relation to the takeover of the production and distribution activity of the Jumbo brand in Senegal, ending its alliance with local partner Cosepral.
The Spanish group GBfoods operates in 28 countries in Africa and the Middle East, where it achieves 15% of its turnover. Its flagship product is the Jumbo stock cube, also known as Avecrem in Africa.
In order to operate directly in the country, GBfoods set up the subsidiary Jumbo Senegal Industrie whose sole partner is Pasa Africa, one of the group's companies.
For this transaction, GBfoods was advised by CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre with Pierre Marly, partner, Safaa El Khammal and Nicole Marielle working together on aspects of Spanish law, with a team from CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo comprising Juan Pablo Correa Delcasso, Antonio Fernandez de Hoyos and Irène Sieiro.
