IAIS: Application paper on regulation and supervision of mutuals, cooperatives and community-based organisations in increasing access to insurance markets

This IAIS paper considers the mutual, cooperatives and community-based organisations sector and the application of insurance core principles to the sector. It recommends that supervisors, regulators and policymakers consider this guidance for the proportionate application of the principles to the sectors and for identifying and removing unnecessary barriers in disproportionate regulation and supervision, but also ensuring the appropriate level of policyholder protection.
