Changes to Competition Law
Event details
Programme
16 Dec 2014 Past event
In 2015 there will be a number of changes to competition law. On 18 January, an amendment of the Competition and Consumer Protection Act is due to come into force (introducing significant changes in the area of merger control, practices restricting competition and consumer protection). The European Parliament and the Council have just passed a Directive on actions for damages for infringements of competition law.
We kindly invite you to a meeting during which – in a Christmas atmosphere – we will discuss the changes which in our view will have the greatest impact on the day-to-day operations of business entities.
The agenda includes:
- Penalties for individuals – who will be liable for violating competition law?
- Voluntary submission to penalty – how can lengthy proceedings be avoided?
- Leniency plus – further incentives towards co-operating with competition authorities
- Remedies – more specific information in decisions issued by the UOKiK
- New two-phased merger control procedure –quicker issuing of decisions?
- Public warnings of suspected violations of collective consumer interests – how to defend your rights?
- Changes to private enforcement - Directive on actions for damages for infringements of competition law
