Karina Zielińska-Piątkowska is an advocate and associate in the IP/TMC Team at CMS.

Karina Zielińska-Piątkowska provides advice on intellectual property law, as well as combatting unfair competition, with a particular focus on copyright protection of works, rights to trademarks, industrial designs and patents.

Her experience includes advising clients on intellectual property protection, representing them in court proceedings concerning patent and trademark protection, and combatting unfair competition, as well as in disputes before the Polish Patent Office.

Karina has drafted technology transfer agreements and advised on employees’ copyrightable works. She has also represented clients in cases to prevent the introduction of counterfeit products into the market.

Personal data and privacy protection is another area of Karina’s expertise. Her experience includes drafting internal GDPR compliance policies, agreements between data controllers and data processors, as well as providing legal support in cases concerning data protection in the context of labour law. She has also been involved in numerous due diligence projects regarding personal data protection.

Karina serves clients spanning multiple sectors, including plant protection products, IT, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, food & beverages, cosmetics, financial services, construction materials, and household chemicals. She has authored numerous publications on intellectual property protection.
