Maciej Brezdeń is a senior associate in Tax Team, in the Corporate / M&A Department at CMS. 

He advises Polish and foreign clients on tax and corporate matters, especially as regards tax optimisation (CIT, VAT, PCC).  

Apart from the ongoing advice he assists clients with corporate and tax aspects in M&A transactions and restructuring. He also assists with representing clients in tax proceedings before administration authorities and administrative courts as well as in penal fiscal proceedings before enforcement authorities and state courts.

  • MEAG MUNICH ERGO ASSET MANAGEMENT, one of the largest German investors in the renewable industry, on the tax aspects of the acquisition of a 21 MW wind farm project located in Żary in Western Poland from OX2 Wind International AB, a Swedish renewable company.
  • A world's leading online retailer, ongoing tax advice.
  • A leading company from the automotive sector, tax advice on establishing a car factory in CEE.
  • Egger Group, on corporate and tax aspects of the first greenfield-type investment in Poland, with a value of approximately PLN 1 billion.
  • Grupa Azoty, one of the largest chemical industry in Europe on the tax aspects of financing the Polimery Police project consisting in construction of infrastructure for the production of polypropylene with a value of approximately EUR 1,5 billion.
  • PKN Orlen, leader among petrochemical companies in Central and Eastern Europe, on the tax aspects of the largest petrochemical investment in Europe - construction of the Olefiny III petrochemical complex in Płock, Poland with a total value of approximately PLN 13,5 billion.
  • Green Investment Group, a company belonging to Macquarie, a leading Australian investment bank, on the tax aspects of the acquisition of a 25,3 MW wind farm project located in Jóźwin in Western Poland from Vortex Energy Poland and Max Bögl International SE.
