Matilde Furtado Marques is an Associate in the Antitrust, Competition & Trade team.
Matilde advises clients on matters involving coordination with multidisciplinary teams, with a particular focus on Competition and EU law, as well as sanctions and enforcement law.
Her academic background includes a Master’s thesis on fines applicable to abuse of dominant position under the Portuguese Competition Act, analysing the compatibility of the legal framework with the principles of public sanctions law.
Her experience includes the drafting of procedural submissions, legal and case-law research, support in the preparation of legal positions, and the follow‑up of procedural steps, as well as formal interaction with courts, administrative authorities, and public and private entities.
Matilde joined CMS Portugal in 2026.
