Bernardo Cunha Ferreira is a Partner in the Energy & Climate Change team and is part of the ESG Task Force.
With over 12 years of experience, his main area of focus is public law, with a special focus on energy and environmental law, providing legal advice to several public and private entities.
He advises several national and international players in the energy sector, namely regarding renewable energy (wind, solar photovoltaic, and hydro) and cogeneration matters.
Highlights of his work include advising on the completion and monitoring of transactions, in particular due diligence in the field of energy (solar and wind projects), regulatory, industrial licensing, and environment, as well as the monitoring of contracts, litigation, administrative proceedings, and various issues in these areas.
Bernardo is acknowledged as Up & Coming by Chambers Europe, 2025, and is ranked Next Generation Partner for Energy & Natural Resources and recommended for Projects and Project Finance by Legal 500, 2025. He is also acknowledged as Leading for Energy Law by Leaders League, 2026. Moreover, he is recognised for Energy Law, by Best Lawyers for the past years. He was also awarded Energy Team of the Year in 2019 and Lawyer of the Year for Energy, Forty under 40, in 2022, both promoted by Iberian Lawyer.
