Attorney Mario Maier joins the M&A Team at CMS in Vienna
After several years of training in the USA and subsequent professional experience in London, Mario Maier returned to Austria to strengthen the CMS Corporate Transactions Team in Vienna. With the lawyer admitted to the bar in both Austria and New York, CMS has another expert in this field with corresponding international experience.

His work at CMS focuses on national and international M&A transactions, venture capital financing as well as general corporate law issues. “With our broad M&A spectrum, our transaction team continues to grow. We are delighted to have Mario Maier in our team: he has advised on numerous large-volume transactions in recent years,” said Peter Huber, Head of the CMS International Transaction Team in Vienna.

Prior to joining CMS, Mario worked for two years as a US associate for a renowned international law firm in London where he advised companies, investment banks and private equity funds on bond issues, particularly in connection with acquisition financing. From his work with a renowned Austrian law firm between 2010 and 2015, he has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law.

Attorney admitted to the bar in two jurisdictions

Mario Maier completed his law studies at Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria, and completed a master’s degree (LLM) at the renowned Harvard Law School in the USA. He passed the bar exam in Austria in June 2014 with very good results, and since March 2016 he has also been admitted to the bar in New York after passing the New York Bar Exam.
