CMS provided comprehensive legal advice to the Motel One Group on the acquisition of the two Austrian hotels. Johannes Hysek led the team responsible for the legal aspects of the transaction, alongside Mariella Kapoun-Reiter. Dieter Zandler and Alexander Sommergruber provided support on Austrian antitrust law issues and Christoph Soltau and Denis Schlimpert provided anti-trust advice in Germany.
Through this acquisition, Motel One will expand its portfolio in attractive metropolitan regions. The hotels, which are currently operated under the Flemings brand, will undergo renovations and redesigns while still operating, before reopening under the Motel One and The Cloud One Hotels brands in 2026. As part of the transaction, the Flemings hotels' employees will be retained, while the properties will remain in the possession of the previous owners.
